Where shall I begin. . .
SUPPLIES
The latest news is our new Soap Making Supplies page on our website. Check it out and let us know what you think. We're not done with formatting, but at least we have our supplies up, together with pricing. We've wanted to do this for so long, and we're finally getting there.
We have a little of this and that, stuff to make soaps with! We have oils, butters, fragrances, essential oils and more. Check in often as we will be updating and adding more items as we roll along!
SOAP MAKING CLASSES
We have been approved by the Honolulu Academy of Arts for the following workshop:
This is a hands-on soap making
workshop. Each student, with the guidance of the instructor, will make 3 pounds
of soap to take home. Class will include a lecture on the history of soap, the
physical properties of soap, how soap cleans, equipment needs, ingredients,
safety, and saponification. Each student will receive: safety goggles, rubber
gloves, a wooden mold, a disposable apron and a booklet containing information
about soap making. Students should wear old clothes and bring an old bath towel
for transporting the soap home. Workshops are limited to eight students each.
Steve and Jo Ann have been making soap for over 14 years; The Soap Box Hawaii
customers include resort hotels, spas and stores throughout the islands and
mainland.
We will begin spring registration around Thanksgiving. At that time, the schedule and registration forms will be available on the Honolulu Academy of Arts website www.honoluluacademy.org (look under the Art Classes tab). For more information, call 808-532-8741 or 808-284-6170.
Students can also register in person in the Art Center Administration Office. Office Hours are Tues-Friday 9am-4pm and Sat 9am-3:30pm, address: 900 South Beretania St., Honolulu, HI 96814.
We have more classes on the horizon for making your own holiday gifts! Stay tuned . . .
Thanks for checking in!
